Brown Bros. Razor Company

A brief jobbing operation by the Brown brothers, in 1902 Wallace bought the assets of the Tidioute Cutlery Company (also formed in 1897) in Pennsylvania, then re-incorporated as Union Razor Company, becoming Union Cutlery Company of Olean in 1911. Famous brands include OLCUT, KEENWELL, and KA-BAR, the latter of which became legendary among U.S. Marines and other veterans. In 1952, the company’s name was officially changed to KA-BAR Cutlery, Inc., and purchased by Alcas Corporation of Olean in 1996, with its operations currently at 200 Homer Street.
