Allegany State Park Historical Society

The Allegany State Park Historical Society is dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of Allegany State Park, New York’s largest state park. Through educational programs, guided experiences, and community events, the Society connects visitors and residents to the stories, people, and places that have shaped the park over time.

The Society meets most months on the third Saturday at various locations throughout the park and actively participates in seasonal events, including Free Fishing Day, I Love My Park Day, National Public Lands Day, and a holiday gathering. These events offer opportunities for the public to engage with local history, explore historic sites, and take part in stewardship efforts.

In addition to meetings and events, the Society supports interpretive initiatives and collaborates with community partners to highlight the cultural and natural heritage of the park.

Visitors are encouraged to follow along and get involved. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram for event details and updates and members receive regular email communications.
